Indus Valley

Deep into the dead ocean of  time,

Forging back from an era of war and crime,

Found are the beautiful footsteps,

Where a lost civilization was on its prime!

Developed on the banks of a pristine river,

Besides the shadow of Himalaya - the mountain emperor,

Here many facets of the past galore,

A zone of veracity of human splendor!

Gone are the glory of those historic tale,

So many ruled over it, so many fell,

Stood those rivers and mountains - a testimony of nature,

The borders are nothing but human mind's caricature!

History teaches those lessons yet and again,

Fighting over a piece of land for the glory - in vain,

Let the present sow the peace seed for future,

No more hatred, bloodshed, and no more human torture!

Civilizations prospered and lost out here,

So many historic accounts that humanity could bear,

Let Indus valley be the preacher of “that truth”,

Let friendship and brotherhood guide us henceforth!

History as it is!

Why can’t history -
deserve the form of its own?
Why can’t it be the same -
as it should have been known?

Stories keep changing –
though unique are the events, place and time,
Somewhere shown  with jest and pride,
Somewhere else as a detestable crime!

In the name of national pride –
controlled are the contours of the past,
Hiding up the illegal unjust –
With a good covering/chameleon mask.

If it’s known that mistakes are done,
Why can’t the perpetrators say sorry,
Why can’t it be amended to save future,
From more and more human misery!

My regards to feminity

My regards to feminity,
In altar of her motherhood:
Symbolism of sacrifice and patience!

Being born in a land,
That gave birth to Gargi, Maitri, Lopamudra,
Later, Laxmibai and Indira Gandhi;
The “shakti” has been omnipresent!

My regards to feminity,
In all her simplicity,
For all the virtues she possess,
Greatness in every “mother” she adorns!
